Jackson guitar serial number search

You have one great guitar and as long as you didn't pay more than double what a standard KE2 is going for and the craftsmanship is on point ( the trem route is not crooked) I would not sweat the fact it was sold under the CS pretense and has a U prefix, it basically is a custom piece especially if that graphic is factory. That has been argued in length already and the debate will continue So lets go figure it out, Custom shop equals 2 plus years wait and $4000 and up in price and Custom select equals 4 - 6 months wait and $2500 - $3000 and they both have the J prefix. So who knows the method to their madness, The true debate is over the Custom Shop vs the Custom Select Series and the fact that they both sport the J prefix. and chrome hardware ( i since swapped it to all black) and is not just a plain ole SL2H with a custom paint job.

Please note that fender serial numbers tend to overlap by at least a year, and thereby the date of your guitar can only be approximated. What is even stranger is that I have a soloist that has custom shop on the headstock and U prefix (U20175) but it has custom features such as pearl white finish w/matching headstock, blank ebony fretboard, black binding on neck and headstock, EMGs with battery cavity on the back. The Fender serial number decoder currently supports all documented MIA, MIJ, MIM, MIK and MII formats with the exception of Custom Shop, Relic and Reissue instruments.
